7+ Great Gifts For Your Dancer

9:40 AM

Recital is either right on you, or is coming up! Many studios and companies have a tradition of giving gifts to the dancers you work with closely, or to your whole class. Other studios don't acknowledge this, but parents may be looking for a nice post-recital gift. Here are a few awesome ideas!

1. A photo board or memo board.

You know French Memo Boards are the best, right? Great for tucking in photos, pins, drawings, and notes from fellow classmates. Check out this cute memo board with dancers on it!

Want to make your own with some fabric you have, or have found? Here's a great DIY tutorial! They're fairly simple to make!

2. Dancewear, or dance supplies

My favorite gift was always getting to pick out a new leotard. Take your dancer for a lunch date and to the dance supply store and let her pick out a beautiful new leo for Summer Intensive! Or check out the awesome handmade dancewear online and have it delivered right to your door.

Other great options include leg warmers, skirts, or hair accessories.

3. A new dance bag, or an accessory bag.

Dance shoe bags, dance bags, and cute dance-themed purses are always a sweet gift!

4. Keychains for their Dance bag

In high school, I had so many tutu and pointe shoe key chains that I had to start rotating which ones I clipped to my bag that day. It was great.

5. A cool dance book

A great gift for a dancer is a book they can enjoy, and can use!

A dance-themed journal is also a sweet idea.

6. A personalized water bottle or lunch box for their snacks

You know they'll be dancing all summer, best keep them hydrated. Here are a few cute ones.

7. A post-recital celebratory shirt

Dancers have the best shirts! See my collection here.

8. Bonus! A portable dance floor for their summer dancing.

Here is a great article by Your Daily Dance where she compares a few different options out there.

You can also follow this tutorial on how to make your own extremely affordable dance floor!

Don't want to cover the whole floor? Get some plywood, foam, and shower pan liner. Sandwich the foam between 2 pieces of plywood (for some spring) and attach the liner over top. Instant mini-dance floor!

No matter what you give your dancer, your presence and support through their dancing and their life is the most valuable gift! Keep being amazing, Dance Moms!
